World Down Syndrome Day

March 21 All day

World Down Syndrome Day is observed annually on March 21 to raise awareness and celebrate the uniqueness of individuals with Down syndrome. The date was chosen to represent the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. Since 2012, the United Nations General Assembly has officially recognized this day globally.

Why we celebrate it:
We celebrate World Down Syndrome Day to promote inclusion, acceptance, and equal opportunities for people with Down syndrome. It is a reminder of the value of diversity and the importance of empowering all individuals to thrive in their communities.
